PSE's Gas Operations team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Gas First Response Fitter (Factoria) position!

Job Description
Gas First Response Fitters are the front line of PSE's emergency response to natural gas incidents. They respond to gas leaks, carbon monoxide alarms, damaged and broken facilities, fires, and other hazardous conditions, taking the actions necessary to protect public safety and maintain the reliability of the gas system. The position requires strong technical knowledge, sound judgment, and a commitment to safety. Fitters inspect, operate, maintain, and repair natural gas facilities and equipment while working closely with customers, emergency responders, contractors, and fellow employees in a wide variety of field conditions.
Safety is the number one priority for Puget Sound Energy. This position requires participation in safety and tailgate meetings, performing safety inspections, identification and reporting of safety incidents and unsafe conditions, obtaining and maintaining required licenses and certifications and participation in emergency response drills. This position holds responsibility for gas safety compliance with PSE's Gas Operating Standards and Gas Field Procedures when engaged in operating, maintaining, constructing PSE's natural gas system, and customer equipment.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations.
This job is under federal regulation by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and is subject to pre-employment and random drug screenings that include screening for the presence of marijuana and marijuana metabolites.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage Emergencies (inside and outside)
- Respond to system and customer facility emergencies and malfunctions
- Initiate Make Safe procedures
- Monitor emergency situations
- Ensure safe operation of customer owned equipment
- Operate and maintain residential and light commercial Meter Set Assemblies
- Locate and operate valves
- Perform inspections and maintenance activities
- Support construction activities
- Interact with contractors and vendors
- Operate motor vehicles safely and professionally
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills
- Valid driver's license
- Five (5) or more years' experience in natural gas distribution construction
- Working knowledge of gas utility systems, metering, materials and tools
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Maintain necessary certifications and licenses
- Must reside within PSE's Natural Gas Service Territory counties
- Must comply with DOT Pipeline Operator Regulations
Desired Qualifications
- Natural Gas Emergency Response qualifications
- Basic oxy-acetylene qualification
- Electrofusion qualification
- Natural Gas Appliance safety inspection experience
- CDL or ability to obtain one

- Applicants must pass a company written test and hands-on practical
- Subject to pre-employment screening and drug testing

- Alternating shifts including nights, weekends and emergency callout
- Duties are performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and include sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, kneeling, climbing, operating equipment and driving company vehicles.

The pay range for this position is $54.70 - $54.70, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
