Health and safety at work

The health and safety of our employees is foundational at PSE. Health and safety practices are woven into every aspect of our business and company culture to protect our employees and the communities we serve. Our leadership establishes and supports safety strategy and exemplifies our safety values. And PSE employee involvement continues to build effective safety programs, lead local safety efforts, and identify new opportunities to make PSE an even safer place to work.

Our commitment to diversity is apparent at every level. PSE outreach programs attract diverse and nontraditional applicants, our leaders are trained to build trusting, inclusive work environments, and president and CEO, Mary Kipp, seeks out diverse opinions and encourages candid conversation. 

We also work with community organizations to promote diversity. PSE is a strong supporter of the Seattle chapter of BOLD (Business Opportunities for Leadership Diversity), which works to mobilize business leaders to create more inclusive workplaces. And we’ve partnered with organizations like Tabor 100 to provide scholarships for African-American students pursuing careers in clean energy fields.

PSE partners with wellness leader Limeade to provide a variety of online and in-person tools, resources and programs including life coaching, Weight Watchers, Origin Financial Wellness program, PSE Athlete, mindfulness training, sleep improvement, stress reduction, emotional intelligence programs, and both personal challenges and team competitions that build friendships and a sense of community at work.
