PSE in the Community

We strongly encourage employees to give back to the community!  Leaders here are different than at other companies, and will provide support as you voluntarily contribute your time, money, and energy to the community. You’ll get to have your volunteer hours and donations matched to any qualifying nonprofit organizations though the Puget Sound Energy Foundation. PSE also directly helps families and the environment through our Powerful Partnerships program. We believe providing funding to specific nonprofit organizations and educating the community on ways to save energy increases conservation, growth, safety, and emergency preparedness.

We are a company of first responders

PSE is a dedicated culture of first responders, so it’s as important to take care of each other as well as we take care of others. PSE provides benefits that ensure our employees know we care.

From a broad wellness program by Limeade to access to personal finance materials through SmartDollar, we've worked to create fun and engaging tools and resources to promote the well-being of the whole person. President and CEO Mary Kipp believes that people come first, and leadership goes the extra mile to support employees' healthy work-life balance.

Our Values:

We all have a voice: We believe in an open and honest dialogue supported by analysis, different perspectives and respectful challenge of ideas, issues and concerns.

We do what’s right: We seek the best outcomes for our customers and community – knowing that our shareholders benefit from this commitment.

We have each other’s back: We are respectful and supportive of our colleagues and are committed to the professional development of each employee.

What our employees are saying

Rachel, Comms, 10 years

“I’m so proud of the dedication this company has…people truly work together for a common cause and can move mountains. We’re also a very charitable company, and I love that we put so much thought and care into our communities.”

Brandon, Customer Outreach, 8 years

“One of the things that I value about our company is that if you want to, you can feel like you make an impact. We all play a part in making this company what it is and without one of us, it definitely wouldn’t be the same. We not only interact with our customers, but we also advocate for them to our internal project teams.”

Pai-Ling, Major Projects, 11 years

"PSE’s leadership cares about the service we provide, the way we provide it, the employees and our communities. They work to grow with our wants and needs as well as providing all employees with many tools and opportunities for career growth."

Puget Sound Energy recognizes the value of having a diverse employee population in all forms. The Company is committed to engaging with organizations to bring visibility to our efforts and promoting our employment opportunities to diverse communities. We seek to be an employer of choice.

We have also received the 2016 Most Valuable Employers for Military award, a 2015 STEM JobsSM Approved Employer, and won the 2014 Fit-Friendly Worksite Platinum award.

For the second year in a row, Puget Sound Energy earned the HIRE Vets Gold Medallion Award for our “exemplary efforts in recruiting, employing and retaining our nation’s veterans.” This federal award is associated with the HIRE Vets Act of 2017 and is the only federal award recognizing exceptional achievement in veteran employment.

PSE is proud to have met and exceeded the criteria for this highest level of recognition demonstrating our commitment to veteran careers, including recruiting, employment and retention. To learn more about the award and the HIRE Vets program, watch the award ceremony here.
