PSE's Project Delivery team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Senior Permit Specialist position!

Job Description

The Senior Permit Specialist works with internal and service provider project groups to ensure PSE construction work is permitted by the jurisdiction and meets all jurisdictional standards and regulations. The work entails creating and preparing permit packages for submittal to jurisdictional partners, managing permit development through the lifespan of the project, tracking permit status, processing permit payments, and keeping all internal stakeholders apprised of timelines, requirements and jurisdictional communications. The Senior Permit Specialist interfaces directly with jurisdictional partners to help ensure the successful outcome of PSE projects within their Rights Of Way and works to build and maintain jurisdictional relationships through timely and professional communications and conflict resolution techniques.


 
The Senior Permit Specialist upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities and promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

Job Responsibilities

•    Manages jurisdictional permits for projects requiring a high level of permitting complexity or in high visibility jurisdictions
•    Provides permitting technical expertise to Project Management organizations, as well as proactively monitoring and communicating jurisdictional changes that could influence permit issuance
•    Acts as the primary point of contact for jurisdictional permit staff, and works to build and maintain relationships with jurisdictional partners to support efficient permit processes, issues resolution and negotiations as needed
•    Manages permit status through task queuing and updates in SAP
•    Creates custom reports on project status, invoicing information, permits, etc.
•    Interfaces with project teams to obtain project specific information, and to relay permit approval timelines in order to manage the customer’s expectations
•    Provides oversight, training and support to team members and leads team process improvement efforts
•    Performs other duties as assigned
 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of permitting or related construction experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven capability in using and maintaining databases, spreadsheets and/or enterprise resource planning software
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints, maps and one-line diagrams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including ability to ability to handle complex conflicts in a professional and respectful manner
  • Ability to lead and coordinate departmental process improvement projects and recommend changes to procedures and methods
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment in analyzing and identifying solutions to permitting issues of diverse scope
  • Knowledge of energy distribution systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word

Desired Qualifications

  • Associates degree or relevant technical certification
  • Experience with SAP
  • Demonstrated contributions to successful process improvements

The pay range for this position is $69,600.00 - $108,100.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
