Job Description
Join our team as a Customer Construction Services Representative, where you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, contractors, and builders seeking new construction and utility services.
In this role, you will guide customers through the construction and service installation process, providing clear information on service requirements, rates, billing, company programs, and policies. You will assess customer needs and prepare accurate cost estimates, establish service agreements, process account updates and payments, and maintain detailed customer records. You will also coordinate project timelines with internal partners, identify complex requests that require additional project management support, and communicate installation commitments and resource availability to customers with clarity and confidence.
Success in this role requires strong customer service skills, keen attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities. The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems, connecting with people, and ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to compliance, safety, and service excellence. This is an individual contributor role that involves frequent collaboration with customers and cross-functional teams to drive successful project outcomes.

Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the initial or single point of contact for new construction services, operating under general direction.
- Respond to inquiries from customers, contractors, and employees regarding construction requests, service rates, billing, credit processes, energy conservation, customer programs, and Company policy.
- Provide energy cost comparisons and quote cost figures based on rate schedule tariffs and Company construction standards.
- Originate and follow up on customer service agreements, including collecting funds, processing orders, and handling account changes or corrections.
- Update customer information, including completion and new construction billing, and compile reports as needed.
- Accurately assess customer needs relative to construction practices and policies, and identify complex jobs requiring escalation to project managers.
- Determine availability and accessibility of existing energy facilities, establish probable timelines, and communicate resource availability and firm installation dates to customers using scheduling tools.
- Maintain knowledge of and comply with all Company standards, policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal safety regulations.
- Perform credit activities and other duties as outlined in the position description.
- Operate computer systems and related software to establish, update, and maintain accurate customer data.
- Collaborate with other departments as needed to respond effectively to customer requests. (Note: this position does not carry supervisory responsibilities.)
- Maintain regular communication with customers, builders, public agencies, service centers, business offices, and other internal and external contacts to gather, provide, and explain information.
This position will be filled in accordance with Article 13.8 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications
- Previous minimum education and training should include the equivalent of successful completion of high school studies in general or clerical subjects and 2 quarters of business school or college studies in accounting, communication skills, drafting, or social sciences, transferable to a 4-year institution, or its equivalent in experience and/or education as determined by the Manager of Customer Service.
- Proficiency at touch typing is required as well as demonstrated customer communications capabilities.
- Courses in basic electricity and gas would be helpful.
Additional Information
The duties and responsibilities are performed in an office environment. The position involves sitting, standing and walking, light lifting, bending and reaching, and keyboard and telephone operation.
The environment conditions include ambient inside temperature, lighting and noise levels.

The pay range for this position is $35.30 - $46.50, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
