PSE's Project Delivery team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Construction Manager position!


Specific details regarding the work arrangements for this position will be discussed in further detail during the interview process.

Job Description

This position is part of the Major Projects department and supports Project Management throughout the entire project lifecycle—including pre-construction, engineering, permitting, bidding, and construction phases—for construction on the transmission and distribution system. The role reports directly to the Supervisor of Project Management.

This job is considered “safety sensitive” as defined in RCW 49.44.240 and is subject to pre-employment drug screening that includes screening for the presence of marijuana and marijuana metabolites.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Reviews, analyzes and resolves field construction issues, discrepancies with standards, design and specifications.
  • Works with contractors, agencies and customers to settle issues and facilitate completion of projects.
  • Coordinates contractor activities and provide oversight on construction projects.
  • Activities include construction management, identification of solutions, limited inspection, payment approval, performance feedback, and proposal review.
  • Assures compliance with budget, schedule, design, standards, contractual agreements and construction requirements.
  • Consults with project team to develop constructable designs.
  • Responsible for the change order process, this includes negotiation of pricing and T&M decisions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Construction Mgrs are expected to be a team player and possess the following skills and experience:  BS in engineering, construction management, related field or 2 years of field experience.
  • Knowledge of utility operations. 
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications and problem solving skills.
  • Comfort working in the office as well out at the jobsite.

Desired Qualifications

  • 6 years of experience with major complex construction. BS Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience. 
  • In-depth knowledge of utility operations, standards and construction practices.
  • Working knowledge of estimating, material procurement, scheduling, rates & tariffs and project accounting.

The pay range for this position is $94,300.00 - $156,900.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
