PSE's IT Infrastructure team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Supervisor, Facility Project Services position!

Job Description

The Supervisor of Facility Project Services leads the delivery of facility capital projects from early design through construction closeout. This role directly supervises Project Managers and Project Coordinators responsible for planning, design, permitting, construction, and commissioning of facility projects. The Supervisor ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within approved budgets, and in alignment with business requirements, code compliance, and PSE standards.

 

This role is accountable for capital execution discipline, consultant and contractor performance, cost control, and cross-functional coordination with internal stakeholders such as Real Estate, Operations, Safety, IT, Finance, and others. Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities

•    Employee Safety, Development & Team Building - Provides employees with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and building effective teams:

    -    Demonstrates a passion for safety. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety including eliminating at-risk behaviors by conducting safety audits and inspections, eliminating hazards and near misses, and attending safety meetings.
    -    Sets clear expectations and holds employees accountable for performance as well as safety goals/targets where applicable.
    -    Oversees training and development of employees directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions. Ensures required training is successfully completed.
    -    Challenges and inspires employees to achieve business results. 
    -    Accountable to ensure employees adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements, as well as safety standards. 
    -    Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews.
    -    Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve employee, business, customer and safety results.

•    Coordinates and works with staff on selected projects that may involve inter-departmental efforts and assignments.
•    Assigns capital projects to staff to ensure timely completion of projects.
•    Supervises all pre-construction evaluation and planning activities.
•    Interprets requirements and application of company and industry standards, guidelines, and methods.
•    Applies architectural and engineering principles, practices, and theories.
•    Creates and / or reviews cost estimates, drawings and studies and provides economic analysis for project alternatives.
•    Ensures compliance with codes, standards, and design requirements to ensure programmatic requirements are met.
•    Demonstrates strong communication and leadership skills.
•    Manages human resource activities to include evaluating staffing needs and hiring new staff; setting performance goals and managing performance expectations; providing training and development opportunities for staff; conducts periodic performance evaluations.
•    Coordinates efforts with Real Estate and others to expedite project delivery.
•    Leads and oversee activities associated with facilities master planning and strategic initiatives.
•    Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, facilities management, project management, construction or related degree
  • Working knowledge of architectural, engineering and construction disciplines, methods, practices and procedures
  • Familiar with purchasing and contracting procedures; construction project budgeting, cost control, and reporting
  • Demonstrated past experience developing and negotiating professional service agreements and construction contracts

Desired Qualifications

  • A professional license in architecture or an engineering discipline
  • Familiar with Principles and practices of construction project management for projects that are at least $1 million in scope, remodeling, and equipment installation; construction/renovation cost estimating
  • Past experience working in a corporate environment with many interested stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in developing documents and procedures for RFIs and RFQs for potential

The pay range for this position is $87,800.00 - $212,300.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
