PSE's IT Application Solutions team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Sr App Configuration Analyst position!

Job Description
  • Performs independent research within business to resolve business issues and process improvements.  Performs functional analysis, requirements, definition and application module configuration and testing.
  • Formulates and defines business scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of business and industry requirements. With this knowledge, develops or modifies complex business process. Includes analysis of business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising existing system logic difficulties as necessary.
  • Works in all phases of systems analysis and considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.
  • Facilitates process to gather/establish business requirements.
  • May participate in hardware/software selection, and vendor selection.
  • Participates in project initiation and defines high-level requirements.
  • Participates in business strategies, objectives and drivers.
  • Is responsible for conducting prototypes, developing functional specifications, data mapping, function mapping, setting of configuration tables and setting of transaction/control tables.
  • Has a thorough understanding of the business processes and flows to enable the analysis of business requirements and the development of solutions for the business functions.
  • Is responsible for the identification of and resolution of gaps in the business processes. Involved in security/authorization set-up, user documentation, data interface design, data migration and reconciliation.
  • Involved in the installation and tuning of modification, as well as archiving data. Ensures compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and other regulations.
  • Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.
Job Responsibilities
  • Diagnoses complex problems, develops and implements solutions in an SAP environment (from list below).  Effectively understands relevant business processes so that they can be modeled in internal systems. 
  • Develops and maintains scope and objectives for internal systems requirements as defined by the organization inclusive of mySAP R/3, 4.6, or ECC 5.0/6.0 modules and affected applications, to allow for programming business rules into said systems.
  • Maintains extensive knowledge of their assigned functional area in SAP environment (from list below), active business processes, business areas, as well as industry.
  • Assists in tailoring the development process to meet the project needs and assists SAP project manager in scheduling, budget tasks, and defines high-level requirements.
  • Serves as a resource to ABAP programmers, developers, and BASIS Administrators in designing, configuring and implementing an SAP system which supports the company’s business and operational needs. Provides leadership and guidance to subordinates. 
  • Configures complex application components (analysis, design, development and implementation of solutions) based on functional requirements without supervision in the SAP environment (from list below). 
  • Deep understanding of project and software development ASAP or Agile methodologies and processes and may assist in aligning the process with project needs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and/or hands-on experience
  • General IT experience: 6+ years IT experience, including several years of systems development experience in the design and development of department-wide or enterprise-wide applications. 
  • Detailed understanding and experience: 5+ years hands-on systems experience in one or more (specialized technical requirements as shown in technical addendum) modules appropriate for the job (or other related functional area experience).
  • Possesses full technical knowledge of phases of software development life cycle.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of systems and/or business analysis design concepts. Demonstrated proficiency in the applied use of systems and process analysis tools. Full system life cycle experience, including development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Ability to facilitate interactive design and functional specification sessions.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms. Excellent technical writing and system documentation skills
  • Strong analytical problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills for smaller projects.
  • Must be a “team player” able to work with management in developing and implementing new processes and enabling systems.  Able to work with end user groups to define application needs and identify feasible solutions.
  • Proactive, self-motivated with the ability to motivate others and a customer-focused service attitude.
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to meet objectives and effectively multi-task.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical.
