PSE's IT Application Solutions team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Senior .NET Developer position!

Job Description

If you are a developer with .NET experience looking to contribute to solutions that expand Renewable energy usage in the Pacific Northwest, this job is for you. 

 

As a member of our team, you will participate in all stages of our engineering lifecycle - from initial research and discovery, quick iteration, solution prototyping and development, all the way through successful production support. Developers in the team can wear multiple hats and demonstrate breadth, depth, and leadership. Applicants should have a real pride in craftsmanship around building responsive user experiences, functional and supportive frameworks as well as understand how their designs affect various performance and reliability metrics of the overall application.

Job Responsibilities

  • Writes exemplary SQL, C#, JavaScript, HTML and HTLM 5 code. 
  • Acts as the lead full-stack software engineering subject matter expert on an agile delivery team; collaborating with product owners, UX, SDET’s and other developers to deliver business value on an iterative basis.
  • Hands-on experience with implementing cloud-native applications.
  • Experience with data modeling for both Relational and NoSQL database platforms.
  • Ensures that end-to-end custom software applications are architected, developed, tested, and released with highly-scalability and maintainability principles.
  • Ensures delivery of high-quality software through standardized coding practices, test-driven development (TDD), continuous integration, and code reviews.
  • Enables optimum organizational efficiency by taking a whole systems approach and thinking across team responsibilities to identify which policies/processes should be standardized and which should not.
  • Provides leadership, technical direction, and architectural input into product vision and roadmap development.
  • Continuously builds technical knowledge and improves our ability to deliver quality solutions; evolving our engineering process and technical capabilities.
  • Mentors team members to drive excellence in engineering as a cohesive, efficient, and productive team unit.
  • Influences technology maturity and innovation across departments and upwards in the company.
  • Provides guidance to business and functional units in developing tests and training plans and materials.
  • Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends integration of the appropriate systems, applications and technology to provide a fully functional solution to a business problem.
  • Works effectively with teams and stakeholders in a fully remote working environment (occasional office visits will be required to support team cohesion and organizational activities).
  • Role includes coding at least 70% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years IT experience, including several years of systems development experience in the design and development of department-wide or enterprise-wide applications.
  • Detailed understanding and 5+ years programming languages (specialized technical requirements as shown in attachment) and strong knowledge of office applications (e.g. Microsoft Office).
  • Possesses full technical knowledge of phases of software development life cycle.
  • Experience with at least two full life cycle implementations of a new application or purchased application.
  • Extensive knowledge of multiple languages, i.e (specialized technical requirements as shown in attachment) environment, active business processes, business areas, as well as industry.
  • Knowledge of systems and/or business analysis design concepts. Demonstrated proficiency in the applied use of systems and process analysis tools. Full system life cycle experience, including development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL).
  • Ability to facilitate interactive design and functional specification sessions.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms. Excellent technical writing and system documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills for moderate sized projects.
  • Must be a “team player” able to work with management in developing and implementing new processes and enabling systems. Able to work with end user groups to define application needs and identify feasible solutions.
  • Proactive, self-motivated with the ability to motivate others and a customer-focused service attitude.
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to meet objectives and effectively multi-task.
  • Ability to work with multiple levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical.
