Job Description

The Senior Application Development Analyst SAP Bobj / PowerBI person assumes responsibility for the quality and delivery of technology business solutions.  The analyst will be responsible for the design, development and testing of the SAP Business Objects-BI components needed to support analytical requirements.  The ideal candidate will work as a member of a team to integrate designs into the overall client strategy and provide guidance on how SAP Bobj / PowerBI can be leveraged.

Job Responsibilities

•    Diagnose complex problems, develops and implements (specialized technical requirements as shown in attachment) environment. Effectively understands relevant business processes so that they can be modeled in internal systems.
•    Performs complex and demanding tasks dealing with the analysis, design, configuration, development and implementation of solutions serving business line and functional units.  
•    Maintains or develops complex application components (analysis, design, development and implementation of solutions) based on functional requirements in the (specialized technical requirements as shown in attachment) environments.  
•    Leads coordination, facilitating interactive analysis and design sessions with representatives of business line and functional units.
•    Carries out detailed system design and writes functional and technical requirements/specs, develops test plans and applies testing, and quality monitoring procedures.
•    Provides guidance to business and functional units in developing tests and training plans and materials.
•    Provides guidance to business and functional units in developing tests and training plans and materials.
•    Responsible for the identification and resolution of gaps in the business processes. Is involved in security/authorization set-up, user documentation, data interface design, data migration and reconciliation.

Minimum Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent hands-on experience. 
•    General IT experience: 6+ years IT experience, including several years of systems development experience in the design and development of department-wide or enterprise-wide applications.
•    Detailed understanding and 5+ years programming languages (specialized technical requirements as shown in attachment) and strong knowledge of office applications (e.g. Microsoft Office).
•    Experience with at least two full life cycle implementations of a new application or purchased application.
•    Extensive knowledge of multiple languages, i.e (specialized technical requirements as shown in attachment) environment, active business processes, business areas, as well as industry.
•    Knowledge of systems and/or business analysis design concepts. Demonstrated proficiency in the applied use of systems and process analysis tools. 
•    Demonstrated understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL).
•    Demonstrated project management skills for moderate sized projects. 
•    Deep experience with minimum of 5 years hands-on systems experience in one or more of these SAP technologies and with working knowledge in one or more of the SAP (from list below) functional modules: 
- BusinessObjects (BOBJ) Data Services
- Business Intelligence (BI)
- BusinessObjects (BOBJ) Analytics 
- Business planning and consolidation (BPC)
- Process Integration (PI)
- Big Data (AWS)
•    Solid understanding of knowledge of office applications (e.g. Microsoft Office) and one or more of:
o    SAP, CRM, ECC architecture and ISU utility knowledge 
- SAP Business Intelligence (BI) 
- SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ) Analytics, SAP Process Integration (PI), SAP Business Warehouse (BW) SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ) Data Services 
- SAP NetWeaver platform functionality

Desired Qualifications

•    An analytical approach to problem-solving, coupled with the ability to conceptualize systems.
•    Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms. Excellent technical writing and system documentation skills.

Additional Information

•    Excellent skills to develop reports using WEBI Proficient in Business Objects Reporting using Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, WEBI Rich Client, and Analysis Office for excel for both SAP and Non SAP sources Expertise in Business Explorer Suite - BEx Query Designer
•    5 years of SAP Business Objects Universe development, WebI/Crystal/BEx query and/or reports development. 
•    5 years of SQL query development. 
•    5 years of SAP BO Universe designing (Using IDT and UDT)
•    Data Services data flow configuration. 
•    Participate in the development and support of reporting solutions within the mixed BPC MS/BW/BOBJ environments
•    Expertise in analysis, design and development of business intelligence systems and should possess strong database skills. 
•    Participate in technical discussions and communicate with all stakeholders effectively 
•    Understanding of Data Modeling and Datamarts 
•    Strong hands on experience in SAP BO Suite (4.2) with strong understanding of Data warehousing concepts.  
•    Exposure to Migration Process and methodology in a development and Production environment. 
•    Exposure to debugging/troubleshooting of SAP Business objects Universe and reports

•    6+ years of experience working in BI projects and actively participating in designing Power BI dashboards.
•    Strong experience developing automated reports and dashboards using Power BI and other reporting tools.
•    Strong Power BI developer who conduct and lead discussions with business partners to understand and document the scope and business requirements to set functional specifications for reporting applications.
•    Strong experience building data models from requirements, including designing dimensional data models and fact tables.
•    Must have solid SQL experience.
•    Must have strong experience working with Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack with focus on SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Analysis Services (Multidimensional and Tabular), TSQL, Power Query, Multidimensional Expressions (MDX), and Data Analysis Expressions (DAX).
•    Ability to quickly stage & shape data from data sources into reporting and analytics solutions.
•    Must have a deep understanding of database fundamentals, including relational database design and multidimensional database design.
•    Must have experience in ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) processes on Enterprise warehouse. 
•    Strong communication and analytical skills to effectively capture, develop and implement the business requirements from conceptual design through delivery.
•    Troubleshoot data issues, validate results, recommend and conduct process improvements.
•    Experience in Python or R is plus.
•    General understanding of utility industry and PSE business practices and procedures.
•    Good understanding of IT policies and procedures.
