PSE's Customer Engagement team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Supervisor Tribal and Microbusiness Outreach position!

Job Description

Responsible for the effective management and implementation of the communications and outreach components strategy for company projects and initiatives programs and services that would best serve tribal and microbusiness customers to support the equitable clean energy transition. In partnership with peers and manager, determines the best strategy to meaningfully engage with these customers through tactical planning, metrics tracking and providing support to the regionally-based Outreach team to accomplish their goals. Provides input to into strategic planning process. Identifies department opportunities for improvement and potential risk areas, and utilizes mitigation techniques. Through cross-functional collaboration and excellent team building and management, this position will be a key team member and pro-actively clarify and challenge expectations and assumptions. 

 

Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

This job is considered “safety sensitive” as defined in RCW 49.44.240 and is subject to pre-employment drug screening that includes screening for the presence of marijuana and marijuana metabolites.

Job Responsibilities

  • Employee Safety, Development & Team Building - Provides employees with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and builds effective teams:
    • Demonstrates a passion for safety. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety including eliminating at-risk behaviors by conducting safety audits and inspections, eliminating hazards and near misses, and attending safety meetings.
    • Sets clear expectations and holds employees accountable for performance as well as safety goals/targets where applicable.
    • Oversees training and development of employees directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions. Ensures required training is successfully completed.
    • Challenges and inspires employees to achieve business results.
    • Accountable to ensure employees adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements, as well as safety standards.
    • Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews and development plans.
    • Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve employee, business, customer and safety results.
  • Leads the communications and outreach components of strategy for company project and initiatives programs and servicesand issues most beneficial for tribal and microbusiness customers, providing support to other initiative teams as needed. This includes development and implementation of the communications and outreach initiative work plan and team coordination and project management.
  • Identifies and prioritizes outreach and reputation risks and develops the risk management and mitigation plan that addresses each risk in a timely and efficient manner. This requires close coordination and communication with departments such as Municipal Relations, Tribal Affairs, Energy Efficiency, Products and Services, Human Resources, Safety, Government Affairs and other departments as needed.
  • Assists in identifying, diagnosing, and solving complex organizational problems. Works confidently and diplomatically with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Provides input into the development of the department's strategic planning process and input into the evolution of PSE's outreach strategies and approaches, including engagement strategies and processes.
  • Provides support to other Customer Engagement team leadership as needed.
  • Performs emergency and storm duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, media, business innovation, strategic leadership/management or relevant field, and 7 years relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience in managing increasingly complex projects with cross-functional teams and in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to contribute effectively in peer management teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skills and experience in collaboration and team building.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple priorities and irregular schedule commitments.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools.

Desired Qualifications

  • Proven experience in customer touchpoint mapping, assessment and improvement.
  • Experience working with tribes and microbusinesses.
  • Practical and successful application of community engagement strategies and tactics.
  • Advanced degree in strategic leadership or management.
  • Broad knowledge of gas and electric utility rates, business objectives, to include operations, customer service, finance, and corporate relations.
  • Familiarity with energy efficiency and clean energy technologies.

The pay range for this position is $83,600.00 - $202,200.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
