PSE's Energy Supply Merchant team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Supervisor Merchant Transmission position!

Job Description
Supervises the team responsible for PSE's Merchant Transmission portfolio and is accountable for results across all operational time horizons from long-term strategic planning to real-time delivery. Ensures reliable, cost-effective transmission operations and acquires transmission capacity and rights that align with PSE assets and strategic objectives. Oversees activities in transmission contract administration and capacity optimization. Supports the implementation of merchant transmission strategies across the organization and coordinates relationships with transmission providers, particularly Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) and other regional transmission operators.
Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE's operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

Job Responsibilities
- Employee Safety, Development & Team Building - Providing employees with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and building effective teams:

- Oversees training and development of employees directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions. Ensures required training is successfully completed.
- Challenges and inspires employees to achieve business results.

- Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews.
- Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to team members to achieve employee, business, customer and safety results.
Transmission Portfolio Management:
- Develops and implements long-term transmission strategies aligned with PSE's resource planning objectives
- Manages merchant transmission rights and capacity optimization across multiple time horizons
- Oversees transmission contract negotiations and asset integration activities
- Monitors and analyzes transmission market fundamentals and pricing trends
BPA and OATT Expertise:
- Manages relationships and contracts with BPA and other transmission providers
- Implements transmission strategies across PSE's operations in coordination with other departments
Cross-Organizational Coordination in Resource Planning, Self-Build Project Development, and Resource Acquisition:
- Works collaboratively with Electric Resource Planning, Resource Acquisition, Energy Resource Development, Major Projects, PSE Transmission, Accounting, Risk Control and Regulatory Affairs
- Leads merchant transmission strategy implementation across business units
- Provides merchant transmission and generator interconnection expertise and guidance to support organizational objectives including self-development of new generating resources and assessment of project proposals for All Source RFPs
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree with a technical or commercial focus from an accredited 4-year college or university, or equivalent experience.
- Proven record of accomplishment in power and/or natural gas trading.
- Knowledge of financial and accounting principals.
- Minimum of four years experience in energy trading or operations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to interact with all levels of a corporation.
Desired Qualifications
- 6 years in transmission operations, planning, or energy trading
- 4 years experience with BPA and regional transmission providers
- Knowledge of transmission planning processes and interconnection procedures

The pay range for this position is $87,800.00 - $212,300.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
