Job Description

Puget Sound Energy, Bellevue, WA seeks Senior System Administrators – SAP, responsible to Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.

Job Responsibilities

Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations. Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future. Performing SAP business application package evaluation, selection, hardware sizing, architecture, strategies, installation, integration with other SAP/Non-SAP applications and support. As per business requirements, evaluating the available SAP business applications examples, SAP Customer Relationship Management applications, SAP Enterprise mobile applications or cloud platform applications. Assisting PSE in identifying the appropriate resources to meet requirements to include installations and configuration on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Participating in blueprinting the solution and performing the server sizing requirement analysis and application installation. Performing configuration and integrations with other applications and performance tuning. Building support procedures and change control management. Performing mission critical SAP application OSDB migrations, version upgrades, configuration, tuning, corrections and transports, maintenance, diagnosis and resolution of system problems.  Advising on the approach for SAP application upgrade; collaborating with functional and development teams to plan the strategy and provide the impact analysis on peripheral systems; and performing the upgrade of SAP applications in non-production and production systems. Managing mission critical SAP applications like ECC, CRM, PI, BW, BODS, EWM that cater to utility meter reading, finance, material management, human resources and warehouse management. Performance tuning of the SAP applications as per the changing requirements and new application development. Using in-depth knowledge of distributed computing technologies to configure and integrate various NetWeaver based platforms with other corporate information. Providing strategy on integrating SAP Core applications like SAP GRC, SAP CRM with PSE's Web/UI technology platforms. Evaluating approach for SAP LaMA on to SAP applications and providing recommendations. Implementing Single Sign On (SSO) between SAP and web applications. Assisting with capacity planning and future growth assessments of all SAP systems and advising on long-term strategy on SAP change management and for application maintenance. Conducting studies of systems and analyses of performance and making recommendations for changes. Predicting the resource requirements for mission critical SAP systems, providing the sizing requirements and implementing the capacity changes. Installing, configuring and managing the SAP data copy (Gold Client) tool and troubleshooting the issues and providing root cause and resolutions. Advising and implementing the best practices for SAP applications administration; creating a knowledge database; and delivering the knowledge sessions. Recommending and implementing process improvement and technology automation. Troubleshooting systems problems independently by investigating underlying problems including HANA system administration monitoring, upgrades, backup and recovery. Advising developers in the design of new applications by providing expertise on systems’ capabilities and constraints. Acting as a mentor in developing, coaching and encouraging of other technical team members within IT.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires Bachelor’s (or foreign educ. equiv.) Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field and five (5) yrs. (post-degree, progressive) experience in Job Offered or related. Experience must have included Designing, developing, installing and maintaining multiple SAP instances of Enterprise Central Component (ECC), Business Warehouse (BW), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Enterprise Portal’s development, test, training and production environments using Software Provisioning Manager (SWPM) and Software Update Manager (SUM) tools; Configuring SAP HANA Cockpit Web-based tool to manage streaming projects, analyzing trace and diagnostic files, as well as querying system views using SAP HANA database explorer and adapters to process of streaming of incoming events in real-time; Configuring SAP Solution Manager System and its features, Agile Innovation, Hybrid Support, SAP HANA, Fiori User Interface and Process Management; SAP S/4 HANA implementations and conversions; SAP installations and configuration on Amazon Web Services (AWS); SAP HANA system administration including monitoring, upgrades, backup and recovery; Configuring SAP Document Management System and integrating with all SAP landscapes to provide robust document and e-asset management capabilities; Upgrading ECC from EHP6 to EHP7 and CRM from EHP2 to EHP3, Planning the EHP upgrades, coordinating with ABAP and functional teams for SPAU/SPDD corrections and for the functional testing; Implementing EWA recommendations periodically (Monthly/Quarterly) as per the customer requirements; and SAP Data center migration, Homogeneous & heterogeneous system copy activities for ECC, CRM, PI, BW, SRM, Portal, and SCM systems on IBM-AIX, Linux, Windows servers.

The pay range for this position is $116,000 - $150,955, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
