PSE's IT Security & Risk team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Sr IT Security Analyst - Cyber Defense Center position!

Job Description

This role will be responsible for a number of areas in our CDC group at PSE and will help mature PSE’s information security capabilities.  We are in the process of growing our Cyber Defense Center and related services, so this is a great time to join our team!  The selected candidate will contribute to our mission to protect the cyber assets of PSE in a variety of dynamic areas, primarily focusing in the area of Incident Detection and Response.  The selected candidate will also have the opportunity to assist in areas like Vulnerability Management/Patching, Cyber Forensics, Audit Preparedness, and Procedure and Process maturity and documentation.  You will have the opportunity to put your knowledge about security best practices to practical use on a great team here at PSE.

Job Responsibilities
  • Uses established procedures to complete routine work in one or more process areas such as Cyber Security Incident Response, Cyber Forensics, Security Monitoring and Reporting, and Audit Preparedness.
  • Acts as member of CDC Incident Response Team (5x8 plus On-Call responsibilities).
  • Determine causes of security and compliance compromises and recommend corrective actions to ensure data security.
  • Identify and document problems and notify others as appropriate based on problem escalation procedures.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of the fundamental tools and concepts of other IT Teams, and apply that understanding to make independent practical contributions to moderately complex
  • IT work within a particular PSE department or function.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in related field or combination of specialized training/experience and five years of directly relevant experience.
  • Knowledge & experience in Cyber Security Incident Monitoring and Response.
  • Deep experience and proficiency with SIEM, EDR, and CASB tools.
  • Technical proficiency in security-related hardware and software; ability to function as a consultant to other IT groups on security matters.
  • Knowledge of working with network routers, LAN bridges, and the communication architectures which link them together.
  • Understanding of security 'firewall' gateways and their designs, configuration and management.
  • Experience with implementation and management of compliance requirements such as NERC and SOX.
Desired Qualifications
  • Understanding and experience with Splunk ES, Palo Alto, and Microsoft Cloud Access Security (MCAS) is highly desired.
  • Understanding and experience with Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) environments is highly desired.
  • Ability to effectively adapt to and apply rapidly changing technology to business needs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.
  • Proven ability to work under stress in emergencies; flexibility to handle pressure coming from all directions at one time.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to manage client expectations.
Additional Information

Highly desirable are certifications in one or more of the following:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • SANS-GIAC certifications family
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
  • Security Plus
