PSE's IT Project Management Office team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Sr IT Business Analyst position!

Job Description

The IT Workforce Advisor will work to ensure that Puget Sound Energy's IT department has the talent and culture required to execute the digital strategy. The successful candidate will have experience developing and implementing programs to upskill and reskill PSE's IT talent. Recognizing our people are our most valuable resource, the ideal candidate will be dedicated to the development of PSE’s IT workforce capabilities long-term.

 

This position will delineate the skills and capabilities needed for Puget Sound Energy's IT workforce based on inputs from the IT Strategic Plan, department priorities, and market trends; objectively assess the current skills and capabilities of the IT workforce to identify needs and gaps; develop strategies, and organize and carry out programs and projects to engage, retain, train, design, and support a diverse IT workforce; and partner with HR and others to support those initiatives as appropriate.

 

Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight for the IT workforce strategy
  • Develop and implement a program to ensure PSE’s IT department has the core technical capabilities to align with current and future business needs
  • Develop and implement technical interview framework
  • Implement, and evolve technical career paths, and plans to address any skill gaps
  • Advanced knowledge of the modern workplace and skills required for digital transformation
  • Oversees IT recruiting vendor and partners with HR on maturity and improvement
  • Oversees college recruiting and summer internship activities
  • Grow and develop programs based on benchmarking and stakeholder input
  • Coordinate activities with stakeholders to streamline the delivery of the strategy
  • Responsible for driving new recruitment pipeline by identifying new channels for finding IT resources
  • Highly-skilled in navigating organizational complexity

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in related field, or combination of specialized training or experience and five years of directly relevant experience.
  • Expertise in process design, reengineering, and requirements management and documentation methodologies.
  • Experience in requirements management, diagramming, use case development (UML).
  • Solid understanding of IT services and delivery processes.
  • Demonstrated team leadership and facilitation techniques.
  • Some experience in business case development.
  • Has a strong understanding of information systems, business processes, the key drivers and measures of success for the relevant business.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Demonstrated creative thinking and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Project, Excel, Outlook and Visio.
     

Desired Qualifications

  • IT Project or proven related experience.
  • Previous experience managing small to mid-sized projects.
  • Familiarity with project life cycles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Visio.
