PSE's Treasury team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Sr Financial Planning & Strategic Analyst position!

Job Description

This position will provide leadership support in an analytical, reporting and budgeting capacity. The individual in this position understands the corporate objectives and key drivers of the business and is able to drive people and processes in order to meet those objectives. The Sr. Financial Planning & Strategic Analyst works with management in developing realistic budgets targets, timely and accurate financial analyses and projections. This role will allow you to demonstrate your ability to work cross-functionally in order to deliver high quality, well-vetted work products and recommendations. As a strategic thinker you're able to gain insights from data, and communicate those concisely to leadership.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare and present strategic materials in a clear and concise story for various groups of leadership to understand, including budget committee decision makers.
  • Provides critical budget and forecast information, analysis and documentation along with strategic insights and recommendations.
  • Identify, initiate and drive improvements in the budget, forecast, and reporting processes to enable the group to function more efficiently and effectively.
  • Key role in the development and communication of the 5-year plan and annual budget processes.
  • Understand the economics of the business and impact on stakeholders, such as our Investors
  • Coordinate projects and collective processes involving multiple analysts.Work cross-functionally to support regulatory and reporting data requests.
  • Supports the accuracy and timeliness of key financial metrics for the department dashboard.
  • Can solve majority of data roadblocks independently and applies the right “80/20” judgment to be efficient.
  • Develop quantitative models that are defect-free, well source and demonstrate a clear understanding of the problem.
  • Aids management at all levels in controlling costs and improving efficiency in the utilization of the organization's resources.
  • Develop good relationships and works cross-functionally to develop high-quality work products.
  • Coaches and leads peers and less tenured team members during project work.
  • Conducts, leads, coordinates and/or participates in various projects as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or related, with advanced knowledge of financial theory and analysis; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 5 years experience in finance field or financial planning, with experience in designing complex spreadsheets and evaluating data to support business analyses.
  • Proven analytic and quantitative decision-making skills, including significant examples of problem-solving, performing detailed analysis, and developing recommendations.
  • Experience designing and evaluating complex spreadsheets to support business analyses.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and Powerpoint and significant experience with financial modeling software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with all levels of management.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Finance.
  • CPA or CFA certification.
  • Experience in utility financial planning and pro-forma analysis
