PSE's Enterprise Risk Management team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Sr Enterprise Risk Management Analyst position!

Job Description

Puget Sound Energy’s Enterprise Risk Management Department is looking for a Senior Enterprise Risk Management Analyst to join our team.  The ideal candidate will partner with team members and PSE leadership to identify, assess, and proactively manage or remediate risks before they occur. This person is a strong strategic thinker, has a robust comprehension of the complex utility landscape, has experience with risk management and/ or risk management theory, possesses excellent written, verbal and communication, presentation and reporting skills, and is skilled in data analytics using Tableau, Power BI and/or other applications.  This position supports the Enterprise Risk Management Program Manager and Director by executing the annual enterprise risk assessment, working with senior level management to assess and report on enterprise and emerging risks to Officers and the Board of directors, conducting business unit risk assessments, tracking key risk indicators, reporting on risk mitigation activities and helping execute a communication strategy to continually educate the business about risk management principles and activities. The candidate will excel at communicating with and reporting to senior leadership of the company, including compiling Board documentation and reports.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work directly with senior leadership, managers and subject matter experts across the company to identify and communicate corporate risk issues. Partner with and coach leadership and employees to help identify, evaluate and mitigate risks. Risk evaluation includes: identifying likelihood of occurrence, severity and control over risks, and helping formulate mitigation plans.
  • Initiate, lead, and perform analysis and provide mitigation recommendations involving complex business problems. Help identify key risk indicators to provide timely and relevant metrics and analysis of risk management progress and effectiveness. Track the implementation of mitigation activities of enterprise risks. Create, update and modify monthly reporting mechanisms to communicate status of risk mitigation efforts.
  • Lead and manage business unit risk assessments, helping others to identify what risks may keep them from achieving their strategic objectives. Suggest various process improvement initiatives.
  • Routinely develop and implement methods to improve ERM business processes, procedures, and communicate the value of risk management to the company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience
  • 5 years work experience as an analyst
  • In-depth knowledge of systems and processes crucial to department operations.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills in a complex environment, with exceptional PC skills using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SAP and CIS. 
  • Strong time management and organizational skills. Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize assignments.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a multi-team environment.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
  • BA in business, economics, finance, engineering, technology or similar disciplines
  • Strong experience in enterprise risk management, including experience with ERM frameworks such as ISO 31000, COSO, RIMS or other similar standards
  • Strategic, curious, and analytic disposition that thrives when solving complex challenges
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Ability to influence without the benefit of positional authority
  • Ability to challenge others, often in higher positions, respectfully
  • Experience with reporting and presenting to senior leadership and/or Board of Directors
  • Ability to create a positive work environment
