PSE's IT Application Solutions team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Sr App Development Analyst - SAP BW / BI / HANA position!

Job Description

This person assumes responsibility for the quality and delivery of technology business solutions.  The ideal candidate will work as a member of a team to integrate designs into the overall client strategy and provide guidance on how SAP BW / BI / HANA can be leveraged.

Job Responsibilities

•    Diagnose complex problems, develops and implements (specialized technical requirements as shown in attachment) environment. Effectively understands relevant business processes so that they can be modeled in internal systems.
•    Performs complex and demanding tasks dealing with the analysis, design, configuration, development and implementation of solutions serving business line and functional units.  
•    Maintains or develops complex application components (analysis, design, development and implementation of solutions) based on functional requirements in the (specialized technical requirements as shown in attachment) environments.  
•    Leads coordination, facilitating interactive analysis and design sessions with representatives of business line and functional units.
•    Carries out detailed system design and writes functional and technical requirements/specs, develops test plans and applies testing, and quality monitoring procedures.
•    Provides guidance to business and functional units in developing tests and training plans and materials.
•    Provides guidance to business and functional units in developing tests and training plans and materials.
•    Responsible for the identification and resolution of gaps in the business processes. Is involved in security/authorization set-up, user documentation, data interface design, data migration and reconciliation.
 

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • General IT experience: 6+ years IT experience, including several years of systems development experience in the design and development of department-wide or enterprise-wide applications.
  • Detailed understanding and 5+ years programming languages and strong knowledge of office applications (e.g. Microsoft Office).
  • Possesses full technical knowledge of phases of software development life cycle.
  • Experience with at least two full life cycle implementations of a new application or purchased application.
  • Extensive knowledge of multiple languages, i.e environment, active business processes, business areas, as well as industry.
  • Knowledge of systems and/or business analysis design concepts. Demonstrated proficiency in the applied use of systems and process analysis tools. Full system life cycle experience, including development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL).
  • Ability to facilitate interactive design and functional specification sessions.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms. Excellent technical writing and system documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills for moderate sized projects.
  • Must be a “team player” able to work with management in developing and implementing new processes and enabling systems.  Able to work with end user groups to define application needs and identify feasible solutions.
  • Proactive, self-motivated with the ability to motivate others and a customer-focused service attitude.
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to meet objectives and effectively multi-task.
  • Ability to work with multiple levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical.
Desired Qualifications
  • An analytical approach to problem-solving, coupled with the ability to conceptualize systems.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms. Excellent technical writing and system documentation skills.
  • Experience with and ability to easily navigate through either BW / HANA systems.
  • Experience with and ability to easily navigate through either Bobj / PowerBI.
  • Experience working with Quality Center for testing management.
  • Able to accurately estimate work effort based on functional or technical specifications.
  • Deep experience with SAP BW/BI, HANA, ABAP programming
  • Deep experience with query development, report/dashboard development, advanced analytics such as data mining.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical
  • Experience in SAP BPC, and In-Memory Technologies (such as SAP HANA and SAP BWA)
  • 5 years’ experience with SAP BW including both backend cube development and front end reporting experience in BI.
  • 5 Years’ experince with SAP HANA modelling 
  • 5 years’ experience with SAP BW data modeling (design and build infoproviders).
  • 5 years’ experience with SAP data acquisition and data transformation development including developing generic extraction programs and interfaces.
  • 5 years’ experience working with SAP BI Content.
  •  3 years BOBJ Administration experience and a solid understanding of Business Objects Architecture.
  • 3 years including Business Objects Enterprise platform, Crystal, WebI, and A.O.
  • BOBJ development with SAP ERP/ECC and SAP BW as sources.
  • Minimum of 5 years with monitoring, analyzing, tuning and optimizing SAP BW system including knowledge of BI scheduling tools.
  •  3 SAP BW upgrade projects or equivalent.
  •  5 years of leadership and project management experience in various solution delivery methodologies (ASAP, Agile)
  • General understanding of utility industry and PSE business practices and procedures.
  • Good understanding of IT policies and procedures.
