PSE's Customer Engagement team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Outreach Manager - King County position!

Job Description

The Customer Outreach team is dedicated to fostering participation in PSE’s programs, encompassing initiatives including energy efficiency, bill assistance, customer renewable energy programs and others.  This is achieved through direct customer education and strategic partnerships at the local level.   Our team helps customers save money and meet their sustainability goals, while supporting PSE’s clean energy future.

•    Direct interactions with customers, including small and medium business owners and communities in need
•    Plan and lead program and energy assistance education presentations, workshops and tablings in the community 
•    Relationship building with community partners and business owners
•    Build trust with the community through consistent in person outreach
•    Work with Marketing and Events teams to support and coordinate program campaigns 
•    In field travel required throughout service area, the expectation of this at 50% of the week in field.

 

This position will include supporting work with the Vietnamese customer base, fluency in Vietnamese highly desired.

 

This position needs someone who can think strategically, collaborate with others, and design and execute outreach plans in their community.   

Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.
 

Job Responsibilities

•    Lead complex, local outreach projects that include managing and directing the deliverables of internal customers to achieve program outreach goals.
•    Takes the lead on the outreach component of corporate initiatives to design comprehensive customer outreach strategies that will be implemented by the Outreach Team at the local level.
•    Develop local direct-to-customer outreach plans for assigned communities for all appropriate PSE products and services in partnership with marketing and other internal partners. 
•    Act as liaison between more complex PSE programs and the rest of the outreach team. Designs strategy and ensures all elements of local implementation by outreach team.
•    In conjunction with program teams, design outreach strategies for the hard to reach customers in assigned area (low income, tribal, seniors, etc.).
•    Build strategic relationships to establish local support/understanding of company mission and business objectives. Creates opportunities for a two-way dialogue between community and PSE.
•    Leads monthly regional collaboration meetings to ensure coordinated community engagement approach across multiple departments.
•    Work collaboratively to develop a cross-department team to provide a consistent set of practices/protocols for communication with customers and communities in support of wide array of programs and initiatives.
•    As needed, deliver presentations to a variety of organizations to increase participation in existing products and services and/or raise awareness and visibility in new, high profile corporate campaigns or initiatives.
•    During emergency events, supports corporate crisis response efforts at a local level to provide accurate and timely information on PSE emergency response. Carries out PSE's corporate messaging on natural gas/electric safety and emergency preparedness to internal and external customers.
•    Performs other duties as assigned.
 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, sustainable business, public relations, or commensurate experience or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
  • 7 years’ experience in external relationship marketing and business development.
  • Experienced in representing various sensitive corporate positions.
  • Strong project manager who engages “hands-on” activities 
  • Skilled in uncovering hidden “story” potential for working through corporate communications group to launch earned media effort.
  • Ability to work successfully with external stakeholders and communities representing diverse interests.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

•    Bilingual - Fluent written and verbal communication inVietnamese highly desired.
•    Experience in sustainable marketing/social marketing.
•    Understanding of utility business model.
•    Knowledge of energy efficiency, renewable energy, corporate responsibility and sustainability.
•    Strong ability to work independently, but also contribute to the overall team goals, while embracing a shared vision.
•    Ability to work successfully in networking with external interested parties and communities representing diverse interests to find collaborative and viable partnerships.
•    Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external customers, utilize creative thinking and problem identification and resolution skills.
•    Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

The pay range for this position is $76,500.00 - $127,200.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
