PSE's Safety & Corp Shared Svcs team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Mgr Supply Chain & Supplier Risk position!

Job Description

This role supports a company strategic priority to create and manage Third Party Risk (TPR) throughout the Supply Chain. The Supply Chain & Supplier Risk Management (SCSRM) organization will provide greater visibility into supplier performance, ensure quality and standards compliance, minimize exposure to supply chain disruption and reduce risk to core gas, electric and generation services. The SCSRM organization also encompasses supplier reporting, data analytics and Diversity Equity and Inclusion and other supply chain strategic business initiatives.


This role will establish a formal TPR program and reporting platform that illuminates TPR insights and enables PSE to quickly understand its data, external versus internal performance requirements and improvement opportunities, and insightfully manage risk. This organization will create, streamline and enhance supplier management functions in partnership with internal PSE stakeholders and suppliers. The role will be familiar with business operations, strategies, data requirements, and priorities used to develop, implement and run supplier risk management operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Employee Safety, Development & Team Building - Provides employees with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and building effective teams:
    • Demonstrates a passion for safety. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety including eliminating at-risk behaviors by conducting safety audits and inspections, eliminating hazards and near misses, and attending safety meetings.

    • Oversees training and development of employees directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions. Ensures required training is successfully completed.
    • Challenges and inspires employees to achieve business results.
    • Accountable to ensure employees adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements, as well as safety standards.
    • Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews and development plans.
    • Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve employee, business, customer and safety results.
  • Lead a team responsible for securing and managing strategic value for Procurement supplier risk with respect to supply chain materials and/or services across PSE.
  • Oversee all Contract Risk and Performance Management and Supplier Management functions for materials and/or services spend at PSE.
  • Provide risk guidance and expertise for a wide variety of materials and/or services contracts; advises on Supplier Performance and Risk Management strategies.
  • Provide oversight to supplier on/off boarding process management.
  • Manage a team of employees who work directly with vendors, PSE Legal / Risk departments, and business stakeholders to ensure contracts support PSE goals and strategies, and obligations are fulfilled.
  • Develop and manage supplier tiering and risk model.
  • Lead Supplier Risk Governance and transform PSE’s risk management culture.
  • Accountable for Supplier Risk Management Governance that requires developing, managing, and scaling the supplier risk management program and cadence for all strategic and core suppliers working with procurement supplier managers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, supply management, business administration or other related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
  • 6-8+ years’ experience in Procurement, Contract Administration, Supplier Management, Risk Management or a related field
  • 2-3 years’ experience managing, leading or coaching, mentoring, developing teams
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Strong ability to work effectively and collaboratively, both as a team member and independently
  • Strong ability to network and cultivate a productive working relationship with customer representatives and third-party vendors
  • Strong negotiation skills and demonstrated conflict resolution skills
  • Strong ability to identify, assess and mitigate risk
  • Strong excellent customer service, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously
  • Strong ability to present complex topics in an effective and concise manner to broad-based audiences including various levels of management
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without positional authority

Desired Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC)
  • Experience in Supply Chain methodology, processes, systems, policies, risk/risk mitigation and compliance
  • Strong understanding of business and contract law as applied to supplier relationships
  • Strong working knowledge of contracting concepts and commercial law
  • Strong ability to drive supplier compliance to agree upon requirements
  • Strong understanding of the Procure-to-Pay process and downstream operations Familiarity with eProcurement Source-to-Pay tools desirable
  • Experience in Contract Lifecycle Management tools desirable
  • Experience in Supplier Performance & Risk Management tools desirable
  • Understanding of procurement governance, processes and policies
  • Strong analytical and interpretive skills to recognize, comprehend and assess data, complex issues, and industry information
  • Experience in business modeling, collecting, manipulating, interpreting, cleansing and visualizing data
  • Demonstrated strategic, project management, process improvement, innovation, stakeholder management and team building skills
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) or Six Sigma training or certification
