PSE's Corporate Communications team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Media Engagement Program Mgr position!

Job Description

Responsible for supporting the implementation of enterprise-wide media engagement strategy. Manages the development and execution of strategic communication and media relations programs that support high priority corporate initiatives such as storm response, new products and services, major regulatory filings, energy-resource acquisitions, utility-operations issues and community engagement efforts. 

The position is hybrid. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Implements the media engagement strategy and work plan including: supporting executive communications; delivering and positioning key messages across target audiences, researching and writing business documents, press releases and backgrounders that support media engagement, and developing and maintaining strategic relationships with the news media and providing feedback on media perceptions and attitudes
  • Creates and coordinates delivery of the themes, messages and vehicles needed to ensure attainment of a consistent and common voice to advance the company's reputation. This includes supporting specific key initiatives and marketing and communication campaigns and efforts in addition to other corporate media communications needs.
  • Serves as a member of the company’s 24/7 media-response team, provides EOC (Emergency Operations Center) and/or media relations assistance as required.
  • Plays leadership role in working with departments across the entire company on their media engagement needs.
  • Manages outside communications vendors / contractors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, media, journalism, marketing or related field, and 5 years related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess needs and respond with most appropriate communications method to enhance corporate objectives.
  • Possesses passion for proactively engaging media.
  • Ability to manage projects, work with other departmental teams and deliver on commitments.
  • Outstanding ability to innovate and think creatively, and to identify and resolve problems.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline-oriented work environment.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively articulate thoughts and ideas.
  • High levels of integrity and self-motivation.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, project and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Established network of media contacts and relationships.
  • Broad knowledge of gas and electric utility rates, business objectives, to include operations, customer service, finance, and corporate relations.
