PSE's Internal Audit team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Lead Data Analyst position!

Job Description

The Senior Business Analyst (Internal Audit Data Analyst Lead) will support the Internal Audit function at PSE with augmenting internal audit risk assessment and fieldwork procedures with data analytics. The Senior Business Analyst will be someone looking to grow and develop their career and will assist PSE in implementing best business practices while encouraging innovation and dedication to customer service and safety. 


Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety. 
Demonstrates commitment to conduct business honestly, ethically and consistent with our core values and our Code of Conduct. 


Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations, including Institute of Internal Audit (IIA) standards. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Initiates, leads, and performs in-depth analysis and provides recommendations, repeatable data compilations or dashboards to support complex business problems, audit objectives or ad-hoc requests. 
  • Uses analytical tools and methods for data analysis to measure performance, identify issues, efficiency opportunities or areas of improvement. 
  • Supports key performance and risk indicators as well as department and corporate goals.
  • Collaborates with other audit team members to prepare data analysis or dashboards for audits, advisory work, ethics investigations, SOX testing and other requests, as identified. 
  • Continually assesses and updates roadmap for the Internal Audit data analytic program needs across team functions.
  • Supports audit planning cycle as well as continuous monitoring of recurring audits and reviews.
  • Assists in preparing periodic updates to executive management and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience 5 years work experience as an analyst 
  • In-depth knowledge of systems and processes crucial to Internal Audit department operations. 
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills in a complex environment, with exceptional PC skills using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP Systems. 
  • Strong time management and organizational skills. 
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize assignments. 
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a multi-team environment. 
  • Effective written and oral communication skills. 

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated proficiency of data visualization tools and integrations with data sources as well as other audit data tools (ie ACL). 
  • General knowledge of GRC or audit software
  • Working knowledge of internal audit, SOX compliance, regulatory compliance and relevant frameworks or standards supporting those functions. 
  • Certification or other formal training in data analytics
  • Knowledge of project management or change management methodologies. 
  • Knowledge of utility industry and general understanding of company accounting, operations, policies and procedures.
