PSE's Electric Operations team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Journeyman Meterman position!

Job Description

The rate of pay for this role is $55.88 per hour.

Job Responsibilities

  • Test, install, inspect, maintain, calibrate, dismantle, repair, adjust and change or replace pans of various types of equipment, such as indicating and recording instruments, watt-hour meters, escapement type clocks, maximum demand registers, time switches, metering equipment, instrument transformers, etc.; located on customer premises or in the shop.
  • Test various types of personal protection equipment Perform similar and incidental duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Applicant must qualify as Meter Journeyman by completing a Meter Apprenticeship, or its equivalent, and have the ability to use tools and equipment of the trade
  • Have working knowledge of the fundamentals of electricity, trigonometry, vector diagrams as pertains to electrical metering; also fundamentals of electrical metering equipment, its construction, maintenance and testing, as well as metering standards.
  • Have experience in working on energized circuits in a safe manner so as not to interrupt continuous service to customers.
  • Must have the ability to meet the public.
  • Must have a working knowledge of safety regulations and possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must possess valid First Aid Certificate.

Additional Information

The duties and responsibilities are performed in an outdoor environment. The position generally involves occasional sitting, frequent standing, frequent walking, moderate to heavy lifting, moderate carrying, frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, twisting, balancing and climbing, frequent operation of light equipment, tools and machinery and occasional operation of heavy equipment and machinery.


Performance of the position generally requires working in a varied outdoor environment such as all weather conditions, all noise levels, hazardous conditions and on the full range of outdoor work surfaces. The frequent use of protective clothing and/or personal devices may be required.


Requires driving of automobiles/vans/trucks.
