PSE's IT Project Management Office team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open IT QA Test Engineer/Tools Admin position!

Job Description

The IT Test and Performance Engineering team is looking for a talented test management tools focused Test Engineer to join our team.  This role is key towards providing superior quality and test services across a diverse and vibrant Enterprise landscape (infrastructure, products, and technologies). Your testing and Micro Focus ALM/Performance Center admin expertise are critical towards ensuring quality solution delivery across the Enterprise.  In this role, you can make a difference each and every day, whether through managing and supporting test management tools or through project driven test activities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Establishes and maintains usage guidelines, standards and best practices, to ensure tool use is efficient, effective and adheres to organizational compliance and security practices.
  • Identifies and troubleshoots issues, collaborating with testers and Micro Focus support as needed to resolve.
  • Manages, configures and improves Micro Focus ALM and Performance Center implementations which support testing across the enterprise.
  • Manages and supports entire Micro Focus ecosystem including environments, server and client side components and database.
  • Supports maintenance and upgrades, planning through testing and implementation for the entire tool ecosystem.
  • Develops and executes complex test strategies and plans across multiple departments, technologies, platforms.
  • Fulfill test lead role for programs and projects, ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Translates complex system requirements and specifications into test requirements to ensure adequate test coverage.
  • Develops and executes test cases and collaborates in the development of automated testing scripts for PSE’s products.
Additional Responsibilities

Develops and maintains test automation and/or performance scripts.

  • Participates in the development and adoption of enterprise quality standards, processes, tools and methodologies to ensure cost-efficient, timely and effective services that support the IT strategy.
  • Responsible for testing across all supported platforms (example: SAP, Web, Microservices, etc.).
  • Identifies test environment requirements, including data sources (extraction, creation, manipulation), files and tables.
  • Participates in design and specification reviews, and uses this information to design test plans and test automation.
  • Influence quality throughout the entire application life cycle, applying test discipline and engineering best practices (agile, CI/CD, automation, cloud, mobile)  to not only improve quality, but to drive towards building quality into the development process, through collaboration with development teams.
  • Provides budget and timeline information about quality assurance/quality control tasks and participation for complex projects.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering, including several years of systems and integration testing experience across department-wide or enterprise-wide applications. 
  • Micro Focus ALM & Performance Center: 3+ years Admin experience for HP ALM and Performance Center. 
  • Micro Focus ALM & Performance Center:  Experience managing full ecosystem: client & server side, database, migration, upgrades, and operational support for major business unit or enterprise.
  • Experienced in test automation design, development and execution concepts across different testing cycles.
  • Proven experience with white box testing, and a strong understanding of and experience with SQA methodologies, techniques and approaches.
  • Must have demonstrated advanced specialist knowledge and expertise in more than one technical area.
  • Comprehensive understanding of QA methodologies and how to adapt them to the specific needs of PSE’s organization and products.
  • Ability to manage large projects: organized, independent, and results-oriented.
  • Ability to facilitate and drive interactive Quality focused activities – test strategy, test design, triage, test sessions  
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms. Excellent technical writing and system documentation skills.
  • Able to work with end user groups to define testing solutions.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with agile methodologies, applying principles and concepts to improve efficiency, productivity and quality.
  • Infrastructure test lab management.
  • Experience with Active Directory.
  • Experience with SAP.
