PSE's Corporate Communications team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Customer Outreach Supervisor position!

Job Description

Responsible for the effective management and implementation of the communications and outreach components of company projects and initiatives. Provides input to strategic planning process. Identifies department opportunities for improvement and potential risk areas, and utilizes mitigation techniques. Through cross-functional collaboration and excellent team building and management, this position will be a key team member and pro-actively clarify and challenge expectations and assumptions.


Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coaches regionally-based Outreach team members to carry out PSE business functions and processes to directly connect with PSE’s customers through proactive outreach and community engagement. Creates and delivers on integrated local customer outreach plan for PSE’s products and services. Works with management to understand the corporate products, services and corporate initiative needs and the data to drive creation of the plan. Works with colleagues to ensure consistent delivery of the outreach plan and helps manage the overall budget.
  • Works collaboratively with other departments in the development and implementation of the company’s integrated marketing and outreach plans.
  • Coordinates implementation, by team, to achieve appropriate program participation.
  • Manages execution of outreach activities to achieve market targets within financial budgets and proactively adjusts activities, as necessary, to reach objectives.
  • Designs standards for outreach initiatives that can be applied throughout the service area.
  • Works to ensure appropriate participation in company programs and increased customer satisfaction with programs.
  • Challenges and inspires employees to achieve business results.
  • Responsible for providing outreach tools and training.
  • Ensures compliance and consistency with various internal and external reporting responsibilities/ interests.
  • Works to ensure resources for team are available and working appropriately.
  • Ensures outreach metrics/results are tracked and communicated to appropriate program teams.
  • Contributes towards identification of continuous improvement opportunities within the communications department.
  • Contributes towards development of annual department budget and performance goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public relations, or related field and 7 years’ experience in community engagement, customer outreach, public relations or similar field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience developing relationships with outside stakeholders.
  • Experience with customer outreach/community relations.
  • Proven track record of innovation and creative thinking.
  • Experience in managing complex projects with cross-functional teams in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical, advocacy and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple priorities and irregular schedule commitments.

Desired Qualifications

  • Possess excellent customer service, leadership and presentation skills.
  • Broad knowledge of gas and electric utilities.
  • Understanding of energy efficiency or renewable energy.
  • Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Desire to work in a team environment.
