Job Description

Puget Sound Energy’s Metering Systems and Data Analytics Department is looking for an Application Configuration Analyst. This position is a great entry position into the IT applications team for anyone who is passionate about metering data and business process analysis, has a curious mind and the desire to learn constantly.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage daily Billing, Energy Imbalance Market and large Electric and Gas power data flows and processes.
  • Manage access to metering systems in compliance with the IAM system and process
  • Support business users in providing requested metering data, process analysis and troubleshooting
  • Develop knowledge of metering systems and data querying language through a combination of in-house and vendor provided training
  • Support system upgrades by testing metering systems applications and ensuring adequate operation
  • Participate in the analysis, development and implementation of new metering systems solutions related to EIM and Metering Data Management systems

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 or more years IT experience, including systems development experience in the design and development of department-wide or enterprise-wide applications.   
  • Demonstrated experience in at least one (specialized technical requirements as shown in technical addendum) functional module with knowledge of other modules and can resolve moderately complex production issues.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated experience in defining scope and requirements of new developments to meet changing business requirements.
  • Knowledge of systems and/or business analysis design concepts. Demonstrated proficiency in the applied use of systems and process analysis tools.
  • Ability to facilitate interactive design and functional specification sessions.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and conceptual skills. 
  • Must be a “team player” able to work with management in developing and implementing new processes and enabling systems.  Able to work with end user groups to define application needs and identify feasible solutions. 
  • Proactive, self-motivated with the ability to motivate others and a customer-focused service attitude
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to meet objectives and effectively multi-task.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of utility and energy measurement processes.
  • Experience with supporting 7x24 processes.
  • General IT experience: 2 or more years including involvement with systems development and design of applications
  • Understanding of any of the following Meter Data Management Systems: Itron MV90, Landis and Gyr MDMS, Honeywell Powerspring.
  • Experience in information systems, operations, architecture, configuration, or other area relevant to successful IT systems implementation role.
  • Understanding of data validation methodologies
  • Experience with Windows Server, Microsoft Office applications, SQLserverOracle packages.
