PSE's Data/Automation team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Senior Data Governance Analyst position!

Job Description

PSE is embarking on a data enablement journey to drive data driven decisions that support its Net Zero Carbon Emissions goals. A big part of that journey is the implementation of data governance including data stewardship, data quality, data security, and a data glossary and catalog.

 

The Senior Data Governance Analyst will help implement PSE’s data governance strategy. They will work with teams throughout the organization to generate excitement about data governance and lead data governance projects. 

 

Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

Demonstrates commitment to conduct business honestly, ethically and consistent with our core values and Code of Conduct.  Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads data governance working groups, engaging with both business and IT stakeholders to ensure progress is being made
  • Finds creative ways to keep data governance working groups fun and engaging
  • Trains and on boards new data stewards and data owners
  • Champions data governance across the organization
  • Develops policies, standards, and roles as needed to support program.
  • Builds and maintains data quality reporting
  • Identify, assess and develop action plans for data issues
  • Uses analytical tools and methods to analyze and streamline processes that are causing data quality issues.
  • Provides requirements and process consultation to business area management and staff for all aspects of Data Governance.
  • Can identify and document emerging business requirements. Can intelligently question business partners to identify unique value drivers. 
  • Properly prioritizes business and enterprise demands and accurately translates business requirements and functionality. 
  • Accurately measures the contribution of Data Governance activities to business value.
  • Can manage ambiguity and create accurate estimates related to Data Governance deliverables
  • Can identify commonalities and suggest a consistent approach across projects in the absence of standards.
  • Can engage with the business in their normal day to day environment and can effectively convey their needs to IT teams in order to deliver value and benefit. 
  • Responds to unfamiliar, undefined, unexpected, or unstable situations in a professional way.
  • Helps determine the root cause of data quality issues and resolve the broad range of common system or process problems. Updates or creates documentation based on work performed.
  • May assist with writing documentation and user training materials
  • Effective in building and sustaining relationships with business partners, professional peers, and other IT team members. 
  • Operates under general direction.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two (2) year degree or certification in a technology-related field or equivalent combination of education, work experience or relevant military experience, and at least four (4) years of experience in related field.
  • Expertise in process design, reengineering, and requirements management and documentation methodologies.
  • Experience in requirements management, diagramming, use case development (UML).
  • Solid understanding of IT services and delivery processes.
  • Demonstrated team leadership and facilitation techniques.
  • Some experience in business case development.
  • Has a strong understanding of information systems, business processes, the key drivers and measures of success for the relevant business.
  • Must be a self-starter. 
  • Demonstrated creative thinking and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Project, Excel, Outlook and Visio.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in related field, or combination of specialized training or experience and five years of directly relevant experience.
  • Some experience working with Data Governance tools (e.g. Informatica, Collibra, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of good data governance practices
  • Experience working with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI or Tableau)
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex topics to any audience
  • IT Project or proven related experience.
  • Experience with Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience in an agile work environment

The pay range for this position is $96,200.00 - $169,300.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
