PSE's Safety & Corp Shared Svcs team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Space Planner position!

Job Description

Plans layout and designs employee work areas for capital or O&M projects.  Develops, updates and applies interior finish standards / guidelines for projects.  Develops interior and architectural programmatic requirements with various company departments.  Develops schedules and priorities for common work with the IT Department.  Oversees and coordinates construction, development, and / or installation of systems furniture with users, vendors, the design team and building contractors.  Oversees furniture-construction progress ensuring that timing, cost and contract requirements are met.  Reviews design changes, furniture and finish specifications and substitution requests.  Follows all established PSE purchasing and accounting procedures.  Develops feasibility studies and cost analysis for review.


Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and works with staff, architects, contractors and vendors on selected projects that may involve inter-departmental efforts and assignments. 
  • Applies interior design and space planning principles to provide cost effective and functional work areas. 
  • Prepares cost estimates, feasibility and other studies to align with company objectives and priorities. 
  • Develops, prepares and manages the yearly furniture budget to include all furniture, fixtures and equipment.  
  • Has demonstrated strong communication and teamwork skills.  
  • Produces drawings, plans, schedules and other documents to support interior relocations for capital and / or O&M projects.
  • Coordinates construction progress with other staff and design team members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of space planning experience. 
  • Working knowledge of architectural design methods, practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience to be self-directed and self-motivated in daily activities with minimal supervision
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in interior architecture or interior design.  
  • Past experience working in a corporate environment with many interested stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated past experience in interior design, specification preparation and cost estimating.
  • Demonstrated experience or willingness to learn AutoCAD computer based drawing.
  • Demonstrated experience or willingness to learn PSE’s modular furniture system.
